If you get extra help from Medicare to help pay for your Medicare prescription drug plan costs, your monthly plan premium will be lower than what it would be if you did not get Extra Help from Medicare.
Anyone who had Medicare can get Medicare precription drug coverage. Some people with limited resources and income may also be able to get Extra Help to pay for the costs- monthly premiums, annual deductibles, and prescription co-payments - related to a Medicare prescription drug plan. The Extra Help is estimated to be worth about $5,300 per year. Many poeple qualify for these important savings and don't even know it. Medicare beneficiaries can qualify for Extra Help with their Medicare prescription drug plan costs. To qualify for the Extra Help, a person must be receiving Medicare, have limited resources and income, and reside in one of the 50 States or the District of Columbia.
